The situation in front of servier.bar
Waiter shortage and falling service levels – guest expectations and turnover suffer
Before servier.bar, we simply had dissatisfied guests, some of our staff were unable to cope with the volume of customers, guests sometimes had to wait a long time before they could place orders and therefore had long waiting times, and we also had the feeling that we were not good at additional sales. In other words, guests were sitting in front of empty drinks or wanted something else in front of empty cups and the staff were simply not attentive enough or too slow or didn’t notice. And so we decided that we needed a solution (to) increase our sales and increase guest satisfaction.
The job market in gastronomy is not the easiest, of course. And we’re already noticing that after Corona, gastronomy is no longer people’s favorite place to work. And so we also have a shortage of waiters. We have a very high fluctuation in the meantime and now work with many unskilled workers, which of course has the disadvantage that they are not as attentive, they sometimes have a longer training phase and so on. And we find it difficult to offer consistently high quality at all times.

servier.bar naturally came from the idea (…) that guests want to order something, have to wait and have longer waiting times. Today, guests no longer have time. Many take a seat and want to place their order immediately. And of course we looked for a solution. And servier.bar helps us to solve precisely these problems.
With servier.bar, guests come, sit down, hold their smartphone over the NFC sticker and can enter their order immediately. You no longer have to wait for the waiter, see if he has seen me, if he notices me, can I place my order, but send it in directly.
Thanks to the integration into our checkout system, we receive the receipts directly into the normal process. The kitchen gets the receipts to the kitchen, the counter gets them to the counter and so the workflow is seamless. And then it goes straight to the table and the guest has their drink in no time at all and has of course saved a lot of time.

At eye level to success
Always cool. So always, always at eye level (…) and very solution-oriented. I have to say, I know we are not an easy partner. We are very demanding and we always expect 100 percent, and servier.bar has always done a very good job.
Cash register integration was the most important issue for us. We didn’t want to start before then and servier.bar went to great lengths to work with HelloTESS to make sure it worked properly.
Today, we have a really great solution that works really well and they have always been very supportive. If we had a spontaneous problem or something, we could call them at any time and they were also available after 8 pm and looked for solutions for us. Super!
Perception of the guests
Stimulate curiosity and appetite – benefit from more orders
The guests are actually really interested. It is often the case that you see in our flyer that we offer this. Or they see the QR code on the table and immediately put down their devices and scan it and want to see what’s happening, what can I do? And they really enjoy it.
The nice thing about servier.bar is that, unlike normal cards, you have a picture for every product, which is of course a huge advantage. The guest doesn’t know every product and in the end the pictures make them want to buy even more and they (guests) think, how great, I’d like to have that. And that of course gives us a huge advantage. Our products are much better marketed and additional sales are naturally stimulated even more. You can see, of course, that it looks very appetizing, I would like to have that and then I book it in.

Opinions of the waiters
Relief for the service team without changeover
They think it’s cool. They were a little skeptical at first because they were naturally worried: Will I get fewer tips? Do you still need me at all? Will I be dismissed now? There were such questions at the beginning. But today they think it’s super cool. (The waiters) realize that it is also a relief for them because (…) the guests are no longer so hectic. Because this constant waving and “Hey, I want something else” simply gets better. The guest can simply order something in between and the process is much smoother.
The waiters themselves, they enjoy it, they get the order in and at the end they just carry it away and are happy to bring the guest something. Whether they have entered it into the machine and taken the order or whether the guest has done it themselves doesn’t bother them. They do that quite normally.
It works seamlessly behind the counter without any problems. It really makes no difference whether we type it at the table via our cash register or whether the guest has done it themselves. Let’s not notice any difference.
